Extension of Le Havre port (France)

Construction of the new port by extending the existing port southwards into the Seine estuary

Client: Port Autonome du Havre - Scales: 1/1000 (Horizontal) - 1/100 (Vertical)

The aims of the movable-bed scale-model study were:

  • to determine the influence of the planned development works on the hydrosedimentary context of the Seine estuary and in particular on the northern mudflats and access channel to the port of Rouen,
  • to assess sedimentation in the new installations.

The modelling also enabled the project's mitigation measures to be fine-tuned (mudflats).
